French francs banknotes: Too late, but….

If you are still holding any old French banknotes, the time to exchange them is RIGHT NOW!

We no longer buy old French francs! Most old French banknotes are no longer redeemable, but there are still five notes which can be redeemed for euros at the Banque de France until February 17, 2012. After that date they become worthless.

In order to redeem your old francs, you must send them to the Banque de France. Redemption instructions (in English) can be found here.

Specifically, the Banque de France will continue to convert these five notes into euros until February 17, 2012:
